Working on the bugs!

We are working on some of the bugs of the base game before we stick up our video demonstration and we have a couple of features to add as well. Its coming along well and we hope to have the video up very soon.

Malcolm has been working on the world map whilst I made notes on all the fixes and features that are needed. I also outlined the plan for the video so we know exactly what we want to show.

Fluff Monster2

We’ll keep you posted on our progress,

Alternative Perspectives

Today as promised we have the new screenshots for our Areas. Which I’ll stick up below. We have a meeting with Alex the programmer soon to discuss the latest version and go over some needed fixes and to outline a goal to get this video ready as soon as possible. Malcolm and I have worked on some aspects of Alpha Revolver Games as well as working on Monstrum.

Work is going well and Malcolm is just finishing up the fire pet sprite sheet for its animations that he completed a while back. I made some needed tweaks to our fire area and outlining some topics for our meeting tonight. As promised here are the images.

Here is what Malcolm has been working on. Do you notice the cave? Look familiar?

This is an another perspective of the grass area.

And here is what I have been working on. This is one of the perspectives we are aiming for. Its on a flat top mountain.

This is the Fire Area from one of the perspectives. We will reveal more soon!

If you have noticed they are actually for the same area, and we would like to reveal that we are aiming to show your other pets in the background. This is to make the world seem more alive and personal.

Stay tuned and thanks for reading,

Darius

Screenshots

Remember those screenshots we had a while back with the pet standing in an area with some of the User Interface of that time all put into an iPhone screen? Well that was our prototype! We did however have some assets we used.

Well some time has passed and Malcolm and I thought of a new interesting way on how to do things and we are making each pet biome (area) completely in blender. We have a couple of screenshots to share with you today and a couple to share on Monday. The video demonstration will come soon, but for now we have a sneak peak to show you. It’s still a work in progress so keep an open mind!

Here is what Malcolm has been working on!

This is going to be the area for our Rock dude, remember this image next time you see the second ground one on Monday.

This is a view of our fire area, I still need to finalize the different pets perspectives, but you will see the first one on Monday. Still a WIP

We got another programming version from Alex today, and its coming along nicely. We just need to discuss a few tweaks and finish getting the Menu Screen in and then we are pretty much ready to start recording our demonstration.

Hope you like what we have to show you!

Title Screens and Fire Area Concept

We had a meeting on Monday to talk over all our progress with Monstrum. The programming is coming along nice with only some slight tweaks and saving and pausing to be finished. After this is done it will be much easier and faster for us to add other areas and creatures in. We hope to add at least one more pet in the same Grass Area and have a fire area and fire pet ready to demonstrate how our base game works very soon.

Malcolm has been working on a title screen, editing some of the User Interface and making the background for the Grass Area and I have worked on the Fire Area Concept in Blender as well as a basic User Interface of the world map.

Malcolm’s made a few concepts of the title screen, here is one of the ideas he had!

We should have a video up soon, but we are hoping to have some screenshots up sooner!

Thanks for reading!

FIre Titles

Hey Readers!

Today Malcolm has fixed some of the art that needed to┬ábe fixed for Alex as well as creating out an intro screen for the purpose of showing off saving and loading. I spent some time working on the fire area concept land. It’s still a work in progress. It’s been quite productive today. We are looking forward to Alexs next version of work which should allow us to estimate when we can have a video demo.

Stay tuned!

Shaping up quite nice!

We are really close to hopefully showing some stuff off in a video soon. Alex is making good progress with the programming and has the main screen all linked up and the stats falling appropriately. For now Alex is working on the saving and pausing of the game so that the player can always return to where they left. Malcolm’s got some tweaks he wants to do in terms of Art from what we have seen and the same goes for me for design. It’s good to see the demo, because it’s opened our eyes to things we haven’t thought about.

Stay tuned,

Darius

Nature

Malcolm has been continuously working on the pet’s habitat area, making sure that he gets it just right. Each pet type has their own area and each pet inhabits their own particular part of land. I’ve seen some screenshots of the work and it’s shaping up nice. We should hopefully have screenshots to share soon.

I expanded on some of the minigame ideas, writing up another document for another game, making sure we have the design idea ready and understood before we begin to work on them. I also outlined design ideas we had or came up with so that we can flesh out the base game when its done. I want to make sure the player feels part of a dynamic world that is just as alive as the pet that inhabits it. I tried working out what the User Interface would be like for the map area, but I’m not happy with it, however its my first attempt and has given me some ideas.

Stay Tuned!
