For a while after university, I was so disillusioned with everything to do with game development. The course I had just completed had tainted my view of the industry to a point where I didn’t know if I really wanted to be a part of it anymore.
It wasn’t until I joined the guys at Alpha Revolver that I started to rekindle some of that fire I once had for the Game Development Process. So before I go any further I would like to thank Darius, Malcolm, Alex and Garry for the opportunity to join them.
Over the Christmas break, I have continued to mess around with programming, trying to learn more about different languages, by way of modding a game which is recently becoming extremely popular: Counter-Strike Global Offensive. Through this game I have learned a lot about C++ and Squirrel, level design, and more engine related coding.
If I look back at the person I was coming out of Uni; I think that they would be surprised by my proactivity, because I am. Even so, I encourage you all to try to improve yourself on a daily basis in any way you can. It sounds exhausting, but as long as you’re getting better every day, no matter how marginally; you’re doing it right.
I look forward to getting back to work,
“I’ve been Steven Warren; and this has been, Self Betterment: Progress is Progress.”
“Over to you Darius…”
