It’s been a while.
Just a quick update to let you know that I am back working on the game full time. As Alex said, we are currently in the process of rewriting the design document for the game, as it is far different than the original concept.
This will ensure that we are as focused as we can be on economically developing the game for the remainder of the project. It also gives us some space from the game, which allows us to have more discussion about existing features as well as new ones which would add to the experience.
I also think that this will help us look at the project in a new light when we do go back to developing it: time away means that preconceptions will fade, which can be productive.
Our main goal for the immediate future is to lock down the design, finalise the concept of what the finished game will look like, and then develop the game with that in mind.
So far, I think this process has already paid off, as we already have some new ideas, as well as redefined some existing ones which are win-win: low cost in terms of development, but they add a lot to the experience.
